Spectra Apheresis Donation to Heamatology Depar...
Apheresis machine is a device which filters harmful components off the blood from our body and is extremely useful in the management of serious blood related diseases. No such device is available in Myanmar at present. Brighter Future Foundation has received a used-apheresis machine from Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation trust and has now donated this to Heamatology Department, Yangon General Hospital.
Brighter Future Foundation would like to thank Dr. Kyaw Zin Maw (Specialist Registrar, Haematology Department, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) for taking an initiative in this donation process, Mrs. Gill Pout (Specialist Apheresis sister, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) for agreeing to volunteer in Yangon General Hospital and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for donating the machine. We would also like to thank Professor U Htun Lwin Nyein, Haematology department, Yangon general hospital and the Ministry of Health for accepting the donation of this machine and collaborating with BFF to set up the service and to arrange training sessions in the near future. We anticipate to work together on many more areas of needs for the people of Myanmar.
